What makes it different

Hive to jar, and nowhere in between.

Most honey on a grocery shelf has been heated and pushed through fine filters. That makes it pour clear and sit on a shelf for years, but it also strips out the pollen and enzymes that give raw honey its character.

Ours skips all of that. We pull the frames, extract the honey, and put it straight into jars. What ends up on your table is what the bees made.

Local honey also means local blooms. The bees here work the fields, tree lines and wildflowers around Millbury and Wood County, so every batch carries the flavor of this specific place — and each season tastes a little different from the last.

Common questions

Good to know

What does “raw and unfiltered” actually mean?

It means the honey goes from the hive to the jar with nothing in between. It is never heated and never filtered, so the natural pollen, enzymes and flavor stay in the jar. Commercial honey is usually pasteurized and filtered, which gives it a longer shelf life and a uniform look but strips out much of what makes raw honey worth buying.

Is this honey actually local to the Millbury area?

Yes. It comes from our own hives here at the farm on Woodville Road, so every jar reflects the blooms of this corner of Wood County. That is also why no two seasons taste exactly the same.

Why does honey crystallize, and is it still good?

Crystallizing is normal and is actually a sign the honey is raw. It does not mean the honey has gone bad. Set the jar in warm water and it will return to liquid.

How much does a jar cost?

Prices follow the market and change through the season, so give us a call at 419-917-1706 for today's pricing and jar sizes.

Can you ship honey to me?

No. Everything we sell is local pickup only at the farm stand at 1760 Woodville Rd, Millbury. You are welcome to call ahead and we will set your order aside.
